Motherson and Adani Ports Join Hands to Build Advanced RoRo Terminal at Dighi Port

Motherson, through its joint venture Samvardhana Motherson Hamakyorex Engineered Logistics (SAMRX), has signed an agreement with Dighi Port Limited (DPL), a subsidiary of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), to set up a modern Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) terminal at Dighi Port in Maharashtra.

The terminal, positioned strategically on India’s west coast with strong multimodal connectivity, will support end-to-end finished vehicle logistics, catering to both import and export requirements of major automakers. SAMRX will invest in the project in phases, creating an annual handling capacity of around 200,000 cars with scope for expansion. The facility will offer value-added services such as yard management, AI-enabled Pre-Delivery Inspection, EV charging, customs clearance, and stevedoring, ensuring full cargo visibility and efficiency.

APSEZ, India’s largest integrated ports and logistics operator, continues to expand its logistics footprint through Dighi Port, strengthening trade connectivity while supporting regional industrial growth.

The initiative aims to meet the rising demand for reliable automotive logistics solutions and underscores Motherson’s commitment to delivering integrated offerings for the sector.

Arjun Kochhar, CEO of Motherson Logistics Solutions Division, said the collaboration will help reduce logistics costs and strengthen India’s automotive supply chain. Ashwani Gupta, CEO & Whole-time Director of APSEZ, added that the partnership will enhance supply chain efficiency and deliver long-term value to customers and communities.
