Godrej Properties Limited enters Coimbatore with 44-acre land acquisition

Godrej Properties Limited (GPL) has announced its entry into Coimbatore with the outright purchase of a ~44-acre land parcel to develop a premium plotted residential project.

The proposed development will have a developable potential of around 1.1 million sq. ft. with an estimated revenue potential of about ?450 crore. The project will feature a well-planned residential layout with modern infrastructure, landscaped open spaces, and community amenities, in line with GPL’s design and sustainability philosophy.

The land parcel is located in South Coimbatore, one of the city’s prominent residential micro-markets, and is situated close to the Coimbatore Golf Club.

This acquisition marks Godrej Properties’ entry into the Coimbatore real estate market and aligns with the company’s strategy of expanding into high-growth cities across India. The move is also expected to strengthen GPL’s presence in economically resilient urban centres while expanding its fast-growing plotted development portfolio.

Coimbatore has been witnessing steady economic growth, supported by sectors such as manufacturing, IT/ITES, education, healthcare, and a strong SME ecosystem. Rising incomes and improving infrastructure have continued to drive housing demand in the city, with plotted developments gaining popularity due to affordability, construction flexibility, and long-term appreciation potential.
