UP govt partners HGS broadband arm to skill 1 lakh youth

The Uttar Pradesh government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with OneOTT Intertainment Ltd (OIL), the broadband vertical of Hinduja Global Solutions (HGS), to skill one lakh youth and enhance employability in the digital economy.

The agreement aims to align skill development initiatives with industry requirements and create employment opportunities for young people across the state.

Under the partnership, OIL will design and implement capacity-building programmes, skill training workshops, structured learning initiatives, and knowledge-sharing platforms. It will also provide research-backed insights, technical recommendations, and policy-level support to ensure effective execution.

The Employment Department of the Uttar Pradesh government will facilitate coordination and collaboration with relevant institutions and stakeholders for smooth implementation.

Officials noted that the initiative will help prepare youth for emerging opportunities in the fast-growing digital services sector, while also leveraging technology and AI to improve efficiency and transparency in public programmes.

The collaboration is part of broader efforts to promote digital inclusion, build future-ready talent pipelines, and support India’s evolving digital economy.
