Patel Engineering Ltd (PEL) has received a Letter of Award (LOA) worth Rs 230.70 crore from Dorjilung Hydro Power Limited for pre-construction works of the 1,125 MW Dorjilung Hydroelectric Power Project in Bhutan.

The project, a joint venture between Druk Green Power Corporation (Bhutan) and Tata Power, is Bhutan’s largest hydropower initiative under the PPP model and aims to support domestic energy needs while enabling power exports to India.

Under the contract, Patel Engineering will execute key civil and hydromechanical works, including construction of diversion tunnels, an adit, a highway tunnel, and installation of vertical lift gates. The project is scheduled to be completed within 300 days.

This order strengthens the company’s presence in the renewable energy and hydropower segment, while also reinforcing its role in regional infrastructure development and clean energy initiatives.
