Copper prices advanced by Rs 12.30 to Rs 1,151.20 per kilogram in futures trade on Friday, supported by firm domestic demand and positive trends in global markets.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), copper contracts for April delivery gained 1.08 percent to Rs 1,151.20 per kg, with a trading volume of 9,652 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise to fresh buying by market participants, driven by strength in overseas markets.
