Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) Chairman and Managing Director Amarendu Prakash has resigned from his position, effective April 2, following approval from the Ministry of Steel.

In the interim, Krishna Kumar Singh, Director (Personnel), has been assigned additional charge as Chairman and Managing Director for a period of three months—from April 2 to July 1, 2026—or until a regular appointment is made.

The company informed in a regulatory filing that Prakash had submitted his resignation to the ministry earlier on January 2.
