India’s retail inflation, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), edged up to 3.4% in March from 3.21% in February, according to government data.
Food inflation also saw a slight increase, rising to 3.87% compared to 3.47% in the previous month, indicating continued pressure in the food basket.
On a regional basis, CPI inflation stood at 3.63% in rural areas and 3.11% in urban regions.
