Copper futures advanced on Thursday, with prices rising by Rs 8.70 to Rs 1,407.20 per kg amid higher demand in the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange of India, copper contracts for June delivery climbed Rs 8.70, or 0.61 per cent, to Rs 1,407.20 per kilogram with a business turnover of 1,387 lots.
Analysts said fresh buying by market participants and improved spot demand supported the rise in copper prices.
