Bosch, Brakes India and Wheels India Form JV for Commercial Vehicle Air Systems

Bosch Limited has announced a joint venture with Brakes India and Wheels India to strengthen the air systems segment for commercial vehicles.

The proposed venture will be a 50:50 partnership between Bosch and TSF Group companies, represented by Brakes India and Wheels India. The companies aim to begin operations by the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.

The joint venture will focus on the engineering, manufacturing, and sale of electronically controlled and software-driven air system modules, including air compression, air processing, air suspension, and air parking brake solutions for commercial vehicles. The entity will be headquartered in Chennai.

Guruprasad Mudlapur, President of the Bosch Group in India and Managing Director of Bosch Limited, said the partnership marks a strategic move to strengthen Bosch’s global leadership in the commercial vehicle segment through advanced and intelligent air systems.

Sandeep Nelamangala, Joint Managing Director of Bosch Limited and President of Bosch Mobility India, said the collaboration aligns with the industry’s transition from mechanical systems to software-driven vehicle architecture.

Brakes India Managing Director Sriram Viji stated that the venture will help deliver advanced electronically controlled air braking systems for next-generation mobility, while Wheels India Chairman and Managing Director Srivats Ram highlighted the company’s experience in air suspension systems and its plans to expand globally through the partnership.

The boards of Bosch, Brakes India, and Wheels India have approved the transaction, which is expected to support rising demand for safer, more efficient, and automated commercial vehicle technologies.
