Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will perform the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony for a state-of-the-art 10,000-ton aluminium extrusion press at Yantra India Limited's Ordnance Factory in Ambajhari, Nagpur, on June 19.

The event will be attended by Devendra Fadnavis, Defence Production Secretary Sanjeev Kumar, and senior officials from the Department of Defence Production and Yantra India Limited.

The proposed facility is expected to become a key national asset for the defence manufacturing ecosystem, enhancing India's capability to produce large, high-strength and precision aluminium alloy extrusions required by the defence and aerospace sectors.

The project is aimed at reducing the country's dependence on imports of critical aluminium extruded components while strengthening indigenous manufacturing capabilities under the Government's Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative. Once operational, the facility is expected to support the development of advanced defence and aerospace systems through domestic production of strategic materials.
