India will host the BRICS Women Ministerial Meeting in Kochi, Kerala, on July 8-9, 2026, under its BRICS Chairship 2026, bringing together ministers and senior delegates from BRICS member countries to strengthen cooperation on women's empowerment and inclusive development.
The meeting is aligned with India's BRICS Chairship theme, "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability," and will focus on promoting women's leadership, expanding economic opportunities, enhancing digital and financial inclusion, encouraging entrepreneurship, and recognising women's contributions to climate action, food security and nutrition.
The ministerial meeting follows the BRICS Women Working Group Meeting held on July 6-7, where senior officials discussed key priorities under the BRICS Women Track. Ministers are expected to review the proposed outcomes and provide strategic direction for future collaboration among member countries.
The event will also feature exhibitions highlighting India's achievements in women-led development across sectors such as rural development, STEM, education and nutrition, alongside plenary sessions and thematic panel discussions involving policymakers, experts and industry practitioners.
