Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) recorded its highest-ever monthly electricity trading volume of 13,938 million units (MUs) in August 2026, marking a 20.2% year-on-year increase.

The average market clearing price in the Day-Ahead Market (DAM) rose 22% YoY to Rs 4.88 per unit, according to IEX data.

Meanwhile, the Real-Time Market (RTM) witnessed a sharper increase in average clearing prices, which climbed 30.4% YoY to Rs 4.41 per unit during August 2026.
