Stock benchmarks Sensex and Nifty closed in the red today amid firmer oil prices and continued weakness in HDFC Bank.

The 30-share benchmark index ended at 77470.11 down by -238.41 points or by -0.31 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24187.7 down by -50.8 points or by -0.21 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 77753.18 and intraday low of 77337.33 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24262.2 and intraday low of 24135.65

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1900.40,+2.07%), InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 5310.15,+1.57%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 12067.05,+1.42%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1237.10,+1.32%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3202.25,+1.18%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 761.45,-2.08%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1303.65,-1.48%), State Bank of India (Rs. 1044.25,-1.48%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2220.50,-1.32%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1073.40,-1.24%), among others.
