Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading lower on Wednesday as higher crude oil prices and selling in bank stocks hit investors' sentiment.

At 10:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 76796.43 down by -673.68 points or by -0.87 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24002.1 down by -185.6 points or by -0.77 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 77384.95 and intraday low of 76722.21 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24166.3 and intraday low of 23973.7
