Sensex and Nifty extended losses in afternoon trade on Wednesday, with the Nifty slipping below the 24,000 mark as selling intensified across realty, PSU banks, media and IT stocks.

At 14:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 76700.56 down by -769.55 points or by -0.99 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23972.35 down by -215.35 points or by -0.89 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 77384.95 and intraday low of 76641.19 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24166.3 and intraday low of 23961.4

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 288.90,+0.78%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4716.00,+0.60%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2154.50,+0.58%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 350.40,+0.55%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. (Rs. 5118.60,-3.61%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1049.00,-2.27%), State Bank of India (Rs. 1024.20,-1.92%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 379.15,-1.76%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11895.75,-1.64%), among others.
