The government of Vietnam has awarded Tata Power Ltd. with Long Phu 2 project on the basis of pre-feasibility studies, said the media reports.

Under the deal, the Tata Group-led company will set up a 1,200 MW project in Vietnam, for which the company is soon likely to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the report stated.

Tata Power, based in Mumbai, is an Indian electric utility company with an installed generation capacity of over 7700 MW.
