Zinc futures dip on subdued demand

Zinc prices declined by 0.31% to Rs 257.10 per kilogram in futures trading on Friday, as speculators cut down their positions amid weak cues from the spot market.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), zinc contracts for June delivery slipped by 80 paise to Rs 257.10 per kg, with a traded volume of 1,816 lots.

According to analysts, the drop in prices was primarily driven by reduced demand from consuming industries in the physical market, prompting participants to pare down their holdings.
