Union Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Piyush Goyal began his official visit to Switzerland on 9th June 2025, as part of a broader tour of Switzerland and Sweden from 9–13 June 2025. The visit reflects India’s commitment to strengthening strategic and economic ties with key European partners, promoting robust trade and investment, and advancing a shared vision of resilient global growth.
In Switzerland, the Minister is set to meet global CEOs, industry leaders, and business associations, with sector-specific focus on pharma, life sciences, and precision manufacturing. Highlights include a meeting with Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin, participation in Swissmem Industry Day, and a roundtable on the India-EFTA TEPA agreement.
In Sweden, Minister Goyal will co-chair the 21st Indo-Swedish Joint Commission Session with Minister Benjamin Dousa. Bilateral meetings with top Swedish officials and business engagements with companies like IKEA, Volvo, Ericsson, and SAAB are also scheduled. He will address the Indian diaspora and media, reinforcing strong economic and people-to-people ties.
