VA Tech WABAG, a leading Indian multinational in water technology, has secured a Letter of Award from the Saudi Water Authority (SWA) for a $272 million (INR 2,332 crore / SAR 1,019 million) Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) desalination project in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia.
The 300 Million Litres per Day (MLD) mega desalination plant will be developed on a greenfield site along the country’s west coast. The contract scope includes design, engineering, supply, construction, and commissioning, with a completion timeline of 30 months from the effective date, to be announced post-contract signing.
Rohan Mittal, Head of Strategy and Business Growth for GCC at WABAG, said the win highlights WABAG’s technical expertise and commitment to supporting Saudi Vision 2030. This is WABAG’s second success on this prestigious project, reinforcing its global leadership in the desalination sector.
