Aerolloy Technologies commissions advanced VIM furnace, boosts superalloy manufacturing capabilities

Aerolloy Technologies Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of PTC Industries, has successfully installed and commissioned a state-of-the-art Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) furnace along with advanced manufacturing facilities for superalloys.

With this addition, Aerolloy becomes one of the very few companies globally capable of producing the world’s largest superalloy investment castings. The facility will also manufacture superalloy ingots and cast sticks, catering to downstream aerospace, space, and defence applications.

The commissioning marks a significant expansion of Aerolloy’s manufacturing base and a major step forward in India’s indigenous capabilities. Superalloys play a critical role in high-temperature, high-stress environments such as aero-engines, industrial gas turbines, space propulsion, and defence systems. The new facility positions Aerolloy to capture a larger share of the fast-growing global superalloy market, estimated at over USD 15 billion annually.

Commenting on the development, Sachin Agarwal, Chairman & Managing Director of PTC Industries, said: “This milestone brings two world-class capabilities under Aerolloy—manufacturing the largest precision superalloy castings globally and producing a wide range of Nickel- and Cobalt-based superalloys, including alloys for single-crystal applications. These advancements not only reduce India’s reliance on imports but also place Aerolloy in a very select global league.”

The fully integrated supply chain—from alloy production to near-net-shape precision castings—is expected to enhance efficiency, improve cost competitiveness, and strengthen customer partnerships. With rising demand for high-performance superalloys in aerospace, industrial, and defence sectors, Aerolloy is now positioned to scale its presence in both domestic and international markets.
