Crude oil prices gained Rs 19 to Rs 5,694 per barrel in futures trade on Tuesday as participants raised positions amid firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, September delivery contracts were up 0.33% at Rs 5,694 per barrel, with a turnover of 2,685 lots.

Analysts said increased buying by traders supported the uptrend in crude oil futures.
