MapmyIndia’s flagship Mappls App, India’s homegrown navigation and maps platform, has launched several India-first features to make driving safer, smoother, and more cost-efficient. The new features include AI-powered live traffic signal timers, NHAI Annual Toll Pass savings, and toll road distance tracking, currently live on the iOS app, with Android rollout soon.
In collaboration with Bengaluru Traffic Police and Arcadis, the AI-powered live traffic signal timers display real-time signal countdowns (green, amber, red) for over 125 smart signals across Bengaluru. Drivers can now preview upcoming signal status up to 500 meters in advance, reducing delays, improving estimated travel times, and enhancing road discipline. This is the first navigation app in India to offer live signal timers to the public.
Through partnership with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the app also displays potential toll savings using the NHAI Annual Toll Pass, helping drivers plan more cost-effective routes. Additionally, the app tracks total kilometers travelled on toll roads, providing transparency and better travel planning.

Chitranshi, COO of IHMCL (NHAI’s tech arm), emphasized that toll pass savings and road distance tracking would make highway travel more efficient, transparent, and cost-effective.
