ORSL inks MoU with IIT (BHU) Varanasi to Advance Bioenergy and Waste Valorisation Research

Organic Recycling Systems Limited (ORSL) has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi to jointly drive advanced research and innovation in bioenergy and waste valorisation.

The collaboration aims to strengthen the industry–academia ecosystem by focusing on key areas such as enhancing anaerobic digestion efficiency, developing innovative digestate-based products, advancing feedstock engineering, and accelerating commercialization of next-generation waste valorisation technologies.

The partnership is designed to address real-world challenges in biomethanation, modular AD system design, microbial optimization, and process modelling to create scalable and sustainable energy solutions.

Dr. (Prof.) Manju Tanwar, Head of ORS-RIC, said the MoU marks a significant milestone in ORSL’s mission to boost research-led innovations in biogas and waste management. Prof. Abhishek Suresh Dhoble of IIT (BHU) said the collaboration will strengthen applied research and enable development of technologies that support a sustainable energy future.
