Himadri executes First Liquid Coal Tar Pitch Export from New Mangalore Port

Himadri Speciality Chemical Ltd (HSCL), a global leader in speciality chemicals and advanced carbon materials, has successfully completed its first-ever export shipment of liquid coal tar pitch to the Middle East from its New Mangalore Port terminal—a key milestone for both the company and India’s expanding role in the global carbon materials market.

The shipment comprised 3,600 tonnes of liquid coal tar pitch, showcasing Himadri’s strong operational capabilities and supply-chain resilience. With this western corridor now active—alongside its established terminal at Haldia—the company has strengthened its ability to serve major international markets, particularly the Middle East and the Americas.

Liquid coal tar pitch is a critical input for industries such as aluminium smelting and graphite electrode manufacturing, where high purity, thermal stability, and consistent performance are essential. The successful execution underscores Himadri’s technical expertise and adherence to rigorous quality standards.

Chairman & MD & CEO Anurag Choudhary called the shipment a defining milestone, highlighting Himadri’s growing global presence and its capability to deliver large-scale, high-quality exports with reliability and excellence.

Looking ahead, the company plans to accelerate its global expansion, focusing on rising demand in the Middle East and the Americas. Himadri aims to establish itself as a long-term strategic supplier by leveraging integrated manufacturing, strong technical know-how, sustainable practices, and robust logistics.

This achievement further solidifies Himadri’s position as a preferred global supplier of advanced carbon materials, committed to technology-driven, sustainable growth.
