Bodhi Tree Multimedia Ltd, one of India’s leading television and digital content production houses, has unveiled CastMatch, the country’s first conversational AI-powered casting platform. Developed under Bodhi Tree AI, the platform replaces traditional casting software by enabling users to simply describe their casting needs through chat—eliminating dashboards, forms, and manual workflows.
During production testing, CastMatch reduced casting shortlist generation time from 2–3 hours to under 60 seconds, a 98% time savings. Powered by AI capable of interpreting context rather than just keywords, the platform scans over 15,000 actor profiles with high precision.
CastMatch uses a hybrid AI architecture, integrating local models with OpenAI’s GPT-4 and 1,536-dimension semantic embeddings. It delivers sub-second performance, including actor searches in under 500 ms and AI responses within 300 ms, while targeting 99.9% uptime and operating at a cost of under $0.50 per user per month.
The platform features 10 integrated AI tools—including script analysis, role extraction, actor recommendations, and budget summaries—and marks the first release in Bodhi Tree’s 12-agent AI roadmap, covering end-to-end production workflows. CastMatch is currently in closed beta with selected studios and casting directors, with a commercial SaaS rollout planned.
Bodhi Tree said the launch brings the company closer to its vision of AI-enabled entertainment workflows, offering unprecedented speed and efficiency.
Commenting on the launch, Mautik Tolia, Managing Director, said, “We didn’t set out to build better casting software—we set out to eliminate the need for it. CastMatch reflects how people naturally work: through conversation.”
Aditya Pratap Singh, Head of AI & Technology, added, “Casting decisions that earlier took hours can now surface in under a minute. We’re not replacing casting directors—we’re giving them superpowers. And this is just the first agent.”
