PM Modi Hails Successful LVM3-M6 Mission as a Major Milestone in India’s Space Journey

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated India’s space scientists and engineers for the successful launch of LVM3-M6, which placed BlueBird Block-2, a US spacecraft, into its intended orbit. The mission marked the launch of the heaviest satellite ever sent into space from Indian soil, reinforcing India’s growing capabilities in heavy-lift launches.

The Prime Minister said the achievement represents a proud milestone in India’s space journey and reflects the country’s push towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat. He highlighted that the success further strengthens India’s position in the global commercial launch market.

“With LVM3 demonstrating reliable heavy-lift performance, we are strengthening the foundations for future missions such as Gaganyaan, expanding commercial launch services and deepening global partnerships,” Modi said.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister praised the role of India’s youth in advancing the space programme, noting that the enhanced launch capability and increased self-reliance will benefit generations to come. He also lauded the efforts of scientists and engineers of Indian Space Research Organisation, saying that India continues to “soar higher in the world of space.”
