India’s forex reserves fall USD 9.80 billion to USD 686.80 billion

India’s foreign exchange reserves declined by USD 9.809 billion to USD 686.801 billion in the week ended January 2, according to data released by the Reserve Bank of India on Friday.

In the previous reporting week, the country’s forex reserves had risen by USD 3.293 billion to USD 696.61 billion.

During the latest week, foreign currency assets (FCAs) — the largest component of the reserves — fell by USD 7.622 billion to USD 551.99 billion, the central bank’s data showed.
