Shares of HDFC Bank extended losses for a second consecutive session, declining over 2% in Friday’s trade following the sudden resignation of its non-executive chairman, Atanu Chakraborty.
The stock fell 2.36% to Rs 780.75 on the BSE, while on the NSE, it slipped 2.19% to Rs 780.70.
The resignation, reportedly due to differences over “values and ethics,” has weighed on investor sentiment, triggering selling pressure in the banking heavyweight.
